‘/etc/foundationdb/fdb.cluster’ looks dead simple. Is there a chance to connect to FDB without a ‘fdb.cluster’ file? E.g. to pass the cluster-information as function parameter? ---

There is a [GitHub issue](https://github.com/apple/foundationdb/issues/567) for implementing something like this, though I’m not sure where it sits on the roadmap. Also, there are a few threads where various changes to the cluster files have been proposed, such as [here](https://forums.foundationdb.org/t/allowing-client-apis-to-use-an-in-memory-fdb-cluster-file/675) and [here](https://forums.foundationdb.org/t/proposal-dont-identify-a-coordinator-based-on-its-ip/502), if you want to see what some of the discussion points are. ---
