# Can fdbbackup to hdfs & fdbrestore from hdfs ？

hi，we have a fdb cluster with large datas , now the local disks are totally used for fdb and have no space for backups, so we want to **backup to hdfs directly.**  
Is there any way to do so ?  
Advanced Query: can **backup to/restore from hdfs with kerberos authentication**?
