Can I change an existing cluster's mode?

Hi

We have some existing clusters which are running in “triple ssd” mode, I wonder if we can just switch the cluster into a “three_datacenter” mode, or we have to setup a new cluster and transfer data?

The version we are using is still 5.1.7.
