Is there a rule of thumb on how many proxy a cluster with 7-9 storage pods should have?

HI,
Is there a rule of thumb on how many proxy a cluster should have relative to the number of storage pods? I have a cluster with 7-9 storage pods, would 3 proxy be more then enough?
Also, about proxy and region, what if the storage pods are divided into 3 regions, would 1 proxy per region be good or need more then that per region?

I’ve seen in some forum post that you need 1 log per 8 storage process and 1 proxy per log process.
