I am neck-deep in a project wrangling terabytes of data with FoundationDB, and I’m hitting some walls when it comes to optimizing performance. Any insights or battle-tested advice from the community would be a lifesaver!

Here is the points where I’m stuck:

  • We’re dealing with a massive amount of data, and writes are becoming the bottleneck. Any secret weapons for getting the most write throughput out of FoundationDB?
  • FoundationDB’s ACID stuff is great, but finding the sweet spot between transaction size and performance is proving tricky. Are there strategies for managing hefty transactions effectively?
  • We have a multi-node FoundationDB cluster, but I’m not sure if it’s configured optimally. What are the key things to consider when setting up a cluster for peak performance and rock-solid reliability?

I suggest first focusing on the measurements/benchmarking: find a way to determine whether a certain cluster configuration is better (or not) for your workload, and automate it.

After that you could start tuning your number of logs and the ratio of commit proxies vs GRV proxies.
