Contributor access request

Hi there, I was hoping to get contributor access based on this post. I previously tried to land a patch, but was unable to respond to any of the feedback because of the repo restrictions.

I have a new branch here that fixes a build issue that arises if you don’t have Jinja2 installed.

I also have a question that I would like to post on this issue.
